Researchers from the Nottingham University, England, discovered the way Cordyceps (as kind of mushrooms), traditional Chinese natural remedy, fights cancer. The research was published in Journal of Biological Chemistry.
It showed that cordycepin, a substance derived from this mushroom, have double effect on malignant growth. In small doses, it blocks uncontrolled cell growth and division
In large doses, it prevents cells from adhering to one another and in that way prevents their growth.
Both effects are due to cordycepin property to influence the way cells produce proteins, discovered English researchers.
